Safe Sport Day

Every year on August 8, our network around the world celebrates #SafeSportDay.

They use the day to announce their latest safeguarding initiatives, or the work they have been doing over the last year to make sport safer.

Many organisations appoint someone as their safeguarding ambassador for the day – and ask their athletes to share videos about the importance of safe sport for them.

However you celebrate, we want all our network to support #SafeSportDay and show what it mean to be part of a team committed to making sport safe for every child.

Each year we select a theme and share a toolkit to help you spread the word – so watch this space!

Hear from one of #TeamSafeSport about their safeguarding journey

“TackleAfrica is delighted to be a member of the International Safeguards for Children in Sport community and are committed to putting young people at the centre of our efforts to ensure the safest possible environment for them in our programmes and beyond.

The Safeguards have provided an accessible tool for us to review and improve our own procedures and policies as well as support our partners to develop theirs.”
